Client Manager

Job description

We are looking to recruit a Client Manager to join our growing and friendly firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and their needs efficiently, providing clients with financial information and advice. Candidates must be pro active when providing advice to clients and ensure clients statutory and compliance matters are dealt with on time and correctly. The candidate will be required to prepare statutory financial accounts, management accounts and statutory audit documents accurately at all times and carryout general bookkeeping duties, personal tax, corporate tax and VAT returns for all clients at DWA.

The candidate will report directly to the Partners to provide an efficient and professional service as one of the first points of contact in the business along with managing and training direct staff.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Managers Duties

  • Preparation and review of all clients accounts
  • Preparation of clients quarterly management accounts
  • Preparation of tax returns for individuals and partnerships
  • Assist with all H M Revenue & Customs Compliance Visits and Investigations
  • Preparation of all clients tax returns
  • Various consultancy work
  • Introduction of new clients and the full completion of the client check list forms
  • Referral of work to IFA's
  • Carrying out Xero setup and training as and when required
  • Setting up procedures in order to assist clients with IHT Planning
  • All client files and all necessary paperwork need to be fully maintained and kept in an orderly and accurate system at all times
  • Liaise with H M Revenue & Customs in relation to client related queries
  • Ensure time is given to assist in the training of trainee accountants
  • Ensuring any money laundering issues are reported
  • Identifying areas for cross selling to clients
  • Attend networking events as and when required
  • Keep up to date with social media and marketing skills to assist with any company requirements
  • This role must maintain a professional image at all times
  • Keep accurate and efficient records
  • Liaise with clients to ensure that all necessary accountancy processes are carried out within the agreed deadlines
  • Carryout client contact meetings to maintain good working relationship on behalf of DWA
  • Ensure all clients correspondence is received on time or followed up by telephone call to client to guarantee that filing deadlines are met  
  • Keep up to date knowledge of accountancy updates, legislation and attending necessary training webinars and courses
  • Comply with CPD requirements as identified by DWA or professional bodies
  • Ensure team members dealing with joint clients are kept fully updated of all changes and updates to any clients situations, to guarantee consistency of services provided to clients

Skills:

  • Qualified accountant, either by professional qualification or by experience
  • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate verbally with confidence and clarity
  • Good report writing
  • Assist in the training of trainee accountants
  • Good time management skills

  • High attention to detail
  • Good understanding of current payroll legislation and environment

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm – Flexible working may be considered

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Senior Payroll Assistant

Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Assistant to join our growing and friendly firm. The successful candidate will be part of our excellent Payroll Team and will assist the Payroll Manager in the future development of the department. You will be required to have up-to-date computerised payroll experience, with previous Bureau Payroll experience and IRIS payroll knowledge would be an advantage. Candidates should have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) together with an attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines and on their own initiative. Training will be provided in respect of specific software, but a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is important and a good understanding of Pension Auto-Enrolment and RTI.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Payroll Duties

  • Processing Clients Weekly and Monthly Payrolls in line with current legislation and RTI regulations
  • Maintaining payroll reports and answering queries
  • Calculation and Submission of RTI returns
  • Calculate holiday pay, sick and other payments/deductions as and when required
  • Preparation & Submission of Year Ends
  • Preparation & Submission of Auto-enrolment Compliant payrolls
  • Calculation of monthly CIS deductions
  • Liaise with H M Revenue & Customs in relation to payroll related queries
  • Provide cover for Payroll Manager when on Annual Leave/Absences

Skills:

  • Willingness to promote and develop the Payroll Department

Salary: £22,000 to £25,000 depending on experience
